Is there a reason why classes are outdoors?
There are many benefits from spending some time outside each day. By being outside, we reap the benefits from:
sun exposure helps boost mental clarity, mood, increases vitamin D production, boosts immune system, stronger bones, may prevent nearsightedness, and improve sleep
fresh air relieves stress and anxiety, lowers blood pressure, helps clean the lungs, improves digestion, and can help improve energy levels and mental focus
grounding and negative ions if you make direct contact with the earth (grass, soil, etc.)
What happens when there is bad weather?
Luckily our gym is mobile. When the weather is not suitable for class, we will announce a location where we can temporarily hold our classes. If for any reason we cannot do this, we will have a virtual class via Zoom.
Are your class offering included in the HOA dues?
Sorry, it does not. BOUNDLESS is an approved vendor with the HOA however, we are still a separate business. Class packages and memberships will be offered separately from the HOA dues.
Can I join if I don’t live in the community?
Classes at the Great Park Neighborhood is only for residents and their guests. All other classes are open to the public.
Do I need to be in shape to join?
No you don’t. Our strength & conditioning program will help get you in shape. No matter what your current fitness level is, a coach will be there to work with you each step of the way.
What is a class like?
Each class will be 1 hour long. The class will be a group setting with a coach leading the class at every step. We begin the class with a short guided meditation to root ourselves in the present moment. Then we will go into yoga to loosen up our spine, joints, and muscles while practicing mind & body awareness. The coach will then gather the class to go over the workout of the day, lead a specific warm up for the workout, and then we will do the workout. More info here —> CLASSES
How many times a week should I take class?
5 days a week is recommended for best results. However, if you are first starting out, 3-4 classes per week is good. We understand that the first two weeks are going to be rough. You are going to be sore. We promise that if you can just make it through the first two weeks, the level of soreness gets better. Once you start feeling better and acclimated to the workouts, you can increase your days per week.
Do I need to know or prepare anything before I show up?
No knowledge is needed. We will teach and guide you each step of the way. However, here are some tips to keep in mind for your first class.
1. No need to keep up
If you are just starting out, please go at your own pace. Don’t worry about trying to keep up. The coach will help guide you and adjust the workout to your fitness level as needed.
2. Go easy on the weights
No need to go crazy with the weights to start. We will focus on safety and technique at first. Once you have good form and feel comfortable with the movement, we can go heavier then.
3. Expect to work hard
You won’t be moving the fastest or lifting the most weight at first, but hard work is still required to get results. Expect to push yourself, but only to your current capacity.
4. What to wear/bring
Wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable working out in, a jacket and/or a hat depending on the weather, a bottle of water, and a workout towel if you’d like. There will be mats available but you are welcome to bring your own yoga or workout mat as well.
5. Everyone here wants you to succeed
We are a family at BOUNDLESS. There is no judgement here. Everyone is here to better themselves and help those around them. Don’t be alarmed if you get cheered on, high fives, or given some pointers. We’re here to support and motivate each other.
Why meditate?
Many of us live a hectic lifestyle. As a result, we suffer from depression, stress, restlessness, and other mental illnesses. Meditation provides relief from such problems and calms the mind. Meditation has been practiced for over thousands of years to cultivate peace and happiness to its practitioners.
Some of the benefits include reduced stress, less anxiety, improved emotional and mental health, enhanced self-awareness, improved concentration, better quality of sleep, helps control pain, and can decrease blood pressure. I tried meditation before. I couldn’t do it, it’s too hard.
Sure, meditation can be hard at first, but so is everything else that is done for the first time. The good thing about practicing meditation with BOUNDLESS is that you’ll have a coach there guiding you at every class. By incorporating this practice into your routine, you’ll start finding it easier to sit still and simply be. As a result, you’ll start noticing the benefits of meditation as mentioned in the Q&A above.
What kind of yoga do you do in class?
We will be doing Surya Shakti, an active form of the Sun Salutation. “Surya” means “Sun,” and “Shakti” means “energy”. It is an ancient yogic practice consisting of a powerful sequence of 18 postures. It is often used as a warm-up at the start of a longer yoga practice. Here we will use it as a general warm-up for our workout.
Here are some of the benefits of practicing Surya Shakti:
Strengthens the heart
Boosts vigor and vitality
Improves immunity
Strengthens the muscles
Tones the digestive system
Corrects hormonal imbalances
Lubricates the joints
Develops mental clarity and focus
Remedies weak constitutions
I’m not flexible, will I be able to keep up during yoga?
Yes, you’ll be fine. The yoga that we do is not complex. Plus everything is scalable to your level.
